Maramataka
Turning term 1 in extension we learnt and made a Maramataka on scratch.
The Maramataka is really useful when it comes to planting, fishing and harvesting.
To learn more press the green flag and then click the button that says info.
The buttons that are in the game are:
The off button – which hides the info and the button named names.
Info – which gives you added information of the game and the Maramataka.
Stop – which stops the wheel from turning.
Names – this button will tell you information about the names which represent something.
Some of the buttons will change if you click them.
this is still in development.
explanatory writing
Today I wrote a piece of explanatory write check it out
Climate change is when the climate is bad for mankind. Climate change is when the temperature in a place changes. Climate change can be a bad thing and a good thing at the same time an example of climate change can be, it can keep us warm enough for us to not get frostbite but it could also be bad because climate change creates CO2 (carbon dioxide) CH4 (methane) and N2O (nitrous oxide) which are all greenhouse gases that get trapped in the atmosphere and creates global warming.global warming is the current rise in the average temperature of Earth’s air and oceans.
I have 3 topics of how climate change and its caused by two sources, us humans and animals. Throughout human activities we create a lot of CO2 (carbon dioxide) which hurts the environment and the atmosphere. 1 of the three topics is burning fossil fuel. Fossil fuel is burned to create energy which is used to heat up water. The second topic is going to be about chopping down trees. It is good to chop down trees as long as you replant them because trees turn CO2 (carbon dioxide) into O (oxygen) and that lets us breathe. The third and last topic is going to be about farming livestock. It’s more of their waste going into the lakes and rivers which creates methane and nitrous oxide.
There are also many different things that can hurt the environment. One of these things that I am going to talk about is droughts. Climate change creates drought which is bad for the environment (a drought is an amount of time when an area experiences below-normal precipitation). The second one is going to be about greenhouse gases. greenhouse gases is when gas gets trapped in the atmosphere and warms up the planet like a greenhouse (greenhouses warm up a room for plants).
A way that we can try to change climate change is to use your car less, turn off devices when not in use, use less energy so the power companies don’t have to burn fossil fuels and don’t burn your rubbish because that can create greenhouse gases just to name a few. You should also let others know the effects of climate change because it affects all of us as well. Making plant-based foods can result in less greenhouse gas emissions.
Climate change sign
Today i made a sign with a quote that i made because to try to stop climate change
